How do Product Attributes work in Feedomix?

Introduction

The Product Attributes page allows merchants to manage additional product information required by Google Merchant Center. These attributes help Google better understand your products, improve feed quality, and increase the chances of product approval.

Using the Product Attributes page, merchants can review all active products, add missing attribute values, and update product information before synchronizing it with Google Merchant Center.

How Product Attributes Synchronization Works

Product Availability

All active products are displayed on the Product Attributes page, regardless of whether they have issues in the Diagnostics section.

This allows merchants to configure Google Merchant Center attributes for their products at any time without waiting for Diagnostics issues to be resolved.

Updating Product Attributes

Merchants can add or edit Product Attributes even if the product currently has unresolved issues in the Diagnostics section. The attribute values are saved in Feedomix but are not synchronized immediately with Google Merchant Center.

The updated Product Attributes will be synchronized only after all of the following conditions are met:

  • The merchant resolves all Diagnostics issues for the product.
  • The merchant generates the feed again.
  • The feed completes successfully.

Once the feed runs successfully and the Diagnostics issues are resolved, the pending Product Attributes are automatically included in the generated feed and synchronized with Google Merchant Center.

Important Notes

  • All active products appear on the Product Attributes page, even if they have unresolved Diagnostics issues.
  • Merchants can add or update Product Attributes at any time.
  • If a product has unresolved Diagnostics issues, the updated Product Attributes are saved successfully but remain pending.
  • Pending Product Attribute changes are synchronized only after the Diagnostics issues are resolved and the feed is generated successfully.
  • Generate the feed after resolving Diagnostics issues to synchronize the latest Product Attribute updates with Google Merchant Center.
  • If an attribute has already been manually added or edited directly in Google Merchant Center, changes made to the same attribute in Feedomix may not overwrite the existing value in Google Merchant Center.
  • For the best synchronization experience, manage Product Attributes through Feedomix before editing them directly in Google Merchant Center.

Overview

The Overview tab provides a summary of all products available for attribute management.

From this page, merchants can:

  • Review all active products available for attribute management.
  • Monitor available product attributes, including Google Product Category.
  • Quickly access individual attribute sections.
  • Manage product information before generating the next feed.

Google Product Category

The Google Product Category section allows merchants to assign the most appropriate Google-defined category to a product. Selecting the correct category helps Google Merchant Center better understand the product, improves feed quality, and increases the chances of product approval.

The category is selected from Google's official Product Taxonomy.

Overview

From the Product Attributes page, merchants can:

  • View the current Google Product Category assigned to each product.
  • Identify whether the category has been configured.
  • Open the product details to assign or update the category.

The Google Product Category column displays the current category assigned to the product.

If no category has been assigned, the status displays Not configured.

Once the feed is generated successfully, the updated Google Product Category is synchronized with Google Merchant Center.

Important Notes

  • All active products appear on the Product Attributes page, even if they have unresolved Diagnostics issues.
  • Merchants can assign or update the Google Product Category at any time.
  • If a product has unresolved Diagnostics issues, the selected Google Product Category is saved in Feedomix but remains pending.
