How to Configure AWS End User Messaging SMS in Notim for Back in Stock Notifications

AWS End User Messaging SMS Setup


AWS End User Messaging SMS is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) service that enables businesses to send SMS messages to customers. By connecting your AWS account with Notim, you can automatically send Back in Stock SMS notifications whenever subscribed products or variants become available again.


Configure AWS End User Messaging SMS in Notim


After selecting AWS End User Messaging SMS as your SMS provider, enter the required credentials in the following fields to connect your AWS account with Notim.



AWS Access Key


The AWS Access Key is used to identify your AWS account and authenticate requests between Notim and AWS End User Messaging SMS.


How to Get the AWS Access Key


  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console.
  2. Open IAM (Identity and Access Management).
  3. Select an existing IAM user or create a new one.
  4. Open the Security Credentials tab.
  5. Under Access Keys, click Create Access Key.
  6. Copy the generated Access Key ID.


Where to Add It



Paste the copied value into the AWS Access Key field in Notim.


Important Notes


  • Required to connect your AWS account with Notim.
  • Must belong to an IAM user with SMS permissions.
  • The key must remain active and valid.


AWS Secret Key


The AWS Secret Key works together with the Access Key to securely authenticate requests between Notim and AWS.


How to Get the AWS Secret Key


  1. Create a new access key from the Access Keys section in IAM.
  2. AWS will generate a Secret Access Key along with the Access Key ID.
  3. Copy the Secret Access Key immediately.


Important: AWS displays the Secret Access Key only once. Store it securely before leaving the page.


Where to Add It



Paste the copied Secret Access Key into the AWS Secret Key field in Notim.


Important Notes:


  • Must match the provided AWS Access Key.
  • Keep this value confidential.
  • If the key is regenerated, update it in Notim.


AWS Region


The AWS Region determines where your End User Messaging SMS resources are configured and where SMS requests are processed.


By default, Notim automatically selects a region based on your store timezone. You can change it at any time.


How to Find Your AWS Region


  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console.
  2. Look at the region selector in the top-right corner.
  3. Select the region where your SMS resources are configured.


Examples:


  • US East (N. Virginia) – us-east-1
  • Europe (Ireland) – eu-west-1
  • Asia Pacific (Mumbai) – ap-south-1


Where to Add It



Select the appropriate region from the AWS Region dropdown in Notim.


Important Notes:


  • The selected region must match your AWS SMS configuration.
  • Your IAM credentials must have access to the selected region.
  • Using the wrong region may affect SMS delivery.


Sender ID (Optional)


A Sender ID is a custom name that appears as the sender of your SMS messages instead of a phone number.


Example: MyStore


How to Configure a Sender ID


  1. Sign in to your AWS account.
  2. Open AWS End User Messaging SMS.
  3. Configure a Sender ID according to your country's SMS regulations.
  4. Use the approved Sender ID value.


Where to Add It



Enter the approved Sender ID into the Sender ID (Optional) field in Notim.


Important Notes:


  • Supported only in certain countries and mobile networks.
  • Availability depends on local regulations.
  • Helps customers identify messages from your store.


Origination Identity (Optional)


An Origination Identity is the SMS resource used to send messages from AWS.


Examples include:


  • Phone Number
  • Long Code
  • Short Code
  • Sender Resource


How to Configure an Origination Identity


  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console.
  2. Open AWS End User Messaging SMS.
  3. Create or select an SMS origination resource supported in your region.
  4. Copy the origination identity value.


Where to Add It



Enter the value into the Origination Identity (Optional) field in Notim.


Important Notes:


  • Required in some countries and regions for SMS compliance.
  • Must already exist in your AWS account.
  • Availability depends on AWS regional requirements.


Save Settings


After entering all required values:


  1. Verify that all credentials are correct.
  2. Ensure your AWS account is active and configured for SMS messaging.
  3. Click Save.


Once saved and enabled, Notim will automatically send Back in Stock SMS notifications through AWS End User Messaging SMS whenever subscribed products or variants become available again.
