[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/01-shopifycontacts_1ev76gh.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/01-shopifycontacts_1ev76gh.png)

Connect Notim with **Shopify Contacts** to add customers who subscribe to Back in Stock notifications to your Shopify Customers.

When **Marketing Consent** is enabled, a consent checkbox is displayed on the Back in Stock form. Customers who provide marketing consent can be added to Shopify Customers with their Back in Stock information and relevant tags.

---

## What is Shopify Contacts Integration?

The Shopify Contacts integration allows Notim to add eligible Back in Stock subscribers to **Shopify Customers**.

When a customer subscribes to a Back in Stock notification and provides Marketing Consent, Notim adds the customer's information to Shopify Customers.

The customer is tagged with:

* **back-in-stock**
* **Product name**

If the same customer subscribes to Back in Stock notifications for another product, Notim updates the existing Shopify customer instead of creating a duplicate customer record.

---

## How to Connect Shopify Contacts

### Step 1: Open Integrations

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/02-integrations_1en808q.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/02-integrations_1en808q.png)

From the Notim dashboard:

1. Open **Integrations**.
2. Find **Shopify Contacts**.
3. Click **Connect**.

---

### Step 2: Grant Shopify Customer Permissions

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/03-customerpermissionrequired_w1s2du.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/03-customerpermissionrequired_w1s2du.png)

After connecting Shopify Contacts, Notim may require permission to access your Shopify customers.

If the **Customer permission required** message is displayed:

1. Click **Update permissions**.
2. Grant the required access to your Shopify customers.

Once the permission is granted, Notim can access Shopify customer information for Subscriber Management.

---

### Step 3: Click Manage

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/04-manage_1swr18f.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/04-manage_1swr18f.png)

After granting the required permission:

1. Return to **Integrations**.
2. Find **Shopify Contacts**.
3. Click **Manage**.

This opens the Shopify Contacts settings page.

---

### Step 4: Enable Marketing Consent

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/05-shopifycustomers_tges4j.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/05-shopifycustomers_tges4j.png)

On the Shopify Contacts settings page:

1. Enable **Marketing Consent**.
2. Save the setting if required.

When Marketing Consent is enabled, a consent checkbox with a label is displayed on the Back in Stock form.

---

## How Shopify Contacts Integration Works

After Shopify Contacts is connected and **Marketing Consent** is enabled, the integration works as follows:

### Step 1: Customer Subscribes

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/07-customersubscribes_rkaoxm.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/07-customersubscribes_rkaoxm.png)

A customer visits an **out-of-stock product** and subscribes to receive a Back in Stock notification.

### Step 2: Customer Provides Consent

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/08-customerprovidesconsent_1juj5l6.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/08-customerprovidesconsent_1juj5l6.png)

The customer enters their contact information and checks the **Marketing Consent** checkbox.

### Step 3: Notim Receives the Information

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/11-recentsubscribers_gofphp.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/11-recentsubscribers_gofphp.png)

Notim records the customer's contact information and Back in Stock subscription details.

### Step 4: Customer Is Added to Shopify

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/09-customerspage_kjbt9x.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/09-customerspage_kjbt9x.png)

The customer is added to **Shopify Customers**.

### Step 5: Back in Stock Tags Are Added

[![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/10-customerstag_o9mnt.png)](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/3/1/a/b31a5d0521d31800/10-customerstag_o9mnt.png)

Notim adds the relevant tags to the Shopify customer:

* **back-in-stock**
* **Product name**

### Step 6: Existing Customers Are Updated

If the customer already exists in Shopify, Notim updates the existing customer instead of creating a duplicate customer record.

> **Note:** Customers who do not provide Marketing Consent are not inserted into Shopify Customers through this integration.

---

## Marketing Consent

When **Marketing Consent** is enabled, a checkbox with a label is displayed on the Back in Stock form.

Customers can select the checkbox to provide marketing consent.

Marketing consent can be collected through:

* Email
* SMS
* Email and SMS

2. Go to **Settings**.

4. Go to **Signup Form Customization**.
5. Customize the **Text Color of the checkbox label**.

The selected color is applied to the checkbox label displayed on the Back in Stock form.

---

## How Customers Are Added to Shopify

When a customer subscribes to a Back in Stock notification and provides Marketing Consent, Notim adds the customer to **Shopify Customers**.

The customer record includes the relevant Back in Stock information and tags:

* **back-in-stock**
* **Product name**

---

## Existing Shopify Customers

If a customer already exists in Shopify and subscribes to Back in Stock for another product, Notim updates the existing Shopify customer.

The new product information is added to the customer's tags.

Notim does **not** create a new Shopify customer record for the same customer.

---

## Find Customers in Shopify

You can view customers added by Notim from your Shopify Admin.

Go to:

**Shopify Admin → Customers**

Customers who provide Marketing Consent through the Back in Stock form can be added to your Shopify customer list.

---

## Customer Tags

Notim adds relevant tags to Shopify customer records.

The tags include:

* **back-in-stock**
* **Product name**

The product name tag helps you identify the product for which the customer subscribed to receive a Back in Stock notification.

---

## Important Notes

### Marketing Consent Must Be Enabled

When **Marketing Consent** is enabled, the checkbox and its label are displayed on the Back in Stock form.

If Marketing Consent is disabled, the checkbox is not displayed.

### Shopify Customer Permission May Be Required

If Notim displays a **Customer permission required** message, click **Update permissions** and grant the required Shopify customer access.

### Marketing Consent Is Required

Only customers who provide Marketing Consent are inserted into Shopify Customers through this integration.

The Marketing Consent checkbox label can be customized from:

**Back in Stock → Settings → Back in Stock Settings → Signup Form Customization**

### Customize the Checkbox Text Color

The checkbox label text color can also be customized from **Signup Form Customization**.

### Existing Customers Are Updated

If the same customer subscribes to another product, Notim updates the existing Shopify customer instead of creating a duplicate customer record.
