How does the Sticky Countdown Timer work in the Buy Me app?

Status

The Status option allows you to publish or unpublish the Sticky Countdown Timer on your website.

Published: The timer will be visible on the website based on the conditions you’ve set.
Unpublished: The timer will be hidden and won’t appear on the storefront, but your settings will be saved for future use.

Make sure the Buy Me app status (on the Dashboard page) is enabled to display the Sticky Countdown Timer with the Sticky Buy Me Widget / Sticky URL Based ATC.

Display Timer On

If you wish to disable the widget for a specific device, simply uncheck the Desktop Sticky Bar and/or Mobile Sticky Bar checkboxes. Don’t forget to click the Save button after making any changes.

Timer Duration

Countdown Duration

This setting defines how long the countdown timer will run once it starts. For example, if you set the Countdown Duration to 10 minutes, the timer will begin from 10:00 and count down to 00:00.

Note: The timer restarts based on the Reset Timer On condition you select below.

Reset Timer On

This option controls when the countdown timer should reset and start over.

Page Load

The timer resets every time the customer reloads the page or navigates back to it.

Useful if you want the countdown to restart on every visit to encourage quicker action.

Add To Cart

The timer resets only after the customer clicks the Add to Cart button of the Sticky Buy Me Widget.

Ideal for motivating users to complete their purchase quickly after adding a product to the cart.

First View Per Session

The timer starts when the customer first views the product during a browsing session and won’t reset again until the session ends (usually after about 30 minutes of inactivity or when the browser is closed).

Best for creating a more realistic sense of urgency that doesn’t reset too often.

Position on Sticky Bar

Timer Position

You can choose where the countdown timer appears in relation to the Sticky Buy Me Widget (Bar) on your store.

Above Sticky Bar

Displays the countdown timer above the Sticky Buy Me Widget (Bar).

This option makes the timer more prominent and visible to the shopper, increasing urgency.

Below Sticky Bar

Displays the countdown timer below the Sticky Buy Me Widget (Bar).

Use this setting if you want the call-to-action (like “Add to Cart”) to appear first, with the timer following it for a cleaner layout.

Countdown Label Text

This setting allows you to customize the text that appears with the countdown timer.

Label Before Timer

Use this field to set the text that appears before or around the countdown timer. You can place the timer wherever you like within the text using the {{ timer }} placeholder.

Example:

Input: Hurry up! Offer ends in {{timer}}

Display: Hurry up! Offer ends in 09:59

NOTE: Make sure to include {{ timer }} in your text — this is where the live countdown timer will appear.

After Timer Ends

This setting controls what happens once the countdown timer reaches 00:00.

After Countdown Ends

Choose the action you want the app to take when the timer completes.

Hide Timer

Once the countdown ends, the timer will be completely hidden from the page.

Use this option if you want to keep the interface clean after the urgency period ends.

Show "Offer Expired"

When this option is selected, the app will replace the countdown timer with an “Offer Expired” message once the timer ends.

Great for informing customers that the limited-time deal has ended, reinforcing urgency.

Message

Write the message that will appear after the timer ends. For example, "Oops! This offer has expired. Stay tuned for our next deal!"

Reset Timer

The countdown timer will automatically restart from the beginning based on your Countdown Duration setting.

Ideal for evergreen urgency, where the timer resets for each customer or visit.

Disable Add To Cart Button

When the countdown timer ends, the Add to Cart button will be disabled for the product — this applies to both:

The Sticky Buy Me Widget
The theme’s native buttons, including Buy It Now

Perfect for true flash sales or time-limited deals where customers must act within the countdown window.

Styling Options

These settings let you customize the appearance of the countdown timer to match your store’s design and branding.

Timer Background Color

Set the background color of the countdown timer. Choose a color that contrasts well with the text to ensure visibility.

Font Size (optional)

Adjust the font size of the countdown timer text. Leave this blank to use the default size, or enter a custom value like 16px.

Timer Text Color

Set the text color for the countdown timer digits and label. Use a high-contrast color (like white on a dark background) to improve readability.

Preview Tip: You can instantly preview your changes in the preview window to see how they look before saving.

Advanced (Optional)

These settings allow you to control where the countdown timer appears across your store's product pages.

Display on All Product Pages

Enable this option to automatically display the countdown timer on all product pages.

Display on Specific Products

Choose this option if you want to show the countdown timer only on selected products.
