# How does the Exclude By URL work in the Buy Me App?

If you want to **hide** certain widgets like **Sticky Buy Me Widget, Sticky Buy Me Cart, Sticky Cart Preview, or Quick Buy Me Widget** on specific pages, you can do so using the **Exclude By URL** feature.

## How to Exclude Widgets from Specific URLs

1. Open the **Buy Me - Sticky Buy Button app** in your Shopify Admin.
2. Go to **Exclude URLs > Exclude URLs** section.
3. Click the **Add New URL** button.
4. Enter the URL of the page where you want to hide the widget(s).
5. Select the widget(s) you want to exclude from the dropdown menu.
6. Click the **Add** button to save the URL in the excluded widget list.

If you later decide to **show** the widgets again, simply click the **delete icon** next to the URL entry.

## When to Use the Exclude By URL Feature?

* **Hiding widgets on specific pages:** Prevent widgets from appearing on checkout, cart, or other custom pages.
* **Subscription-based products:** If you sell subscription-based products and don’t want the Sticky Buy Me Widget to appear on certain URLs.
* **Pre-order products:** If certain products are available only for pre-order and you don’t want Sticky Buy Me Widget displayed.
* **Cart page exclusion:** If you prefer not to show Sticky Buy Me Cart on your store’s cart page.

## Using Wildcards to Exclude Widgets for Multiple Pages

You can use the `*` wildcard to exclude widgets for a group of pages.

For example: `example.com/collections/collection_name/*` → Excludes widgets from all product pages within a collection.

## Valid URL Examples:
example.com/* → Excludes widgets from all pages.
example.com/collections/* → Excludes widgets from all collection pages.
example.com/products/* → Excludes widgets from all product pages.
example.com/blogs/* → Excludes widgets from all blog pages.
example.com/pages/*  → Excludes widgets from all standard pages.
example.com/accounts/* → Excludes widgets from all account-related pages.

## Invalid URL Examples:
example.com*
example.com/collections*
example.com/*collections
example.com/*products*
example.com/*products/*
example.com/*/products*

## Important Note About Shopify Product Page URLs

Shopify allows two ways to access product pages:
* example.com/products/product_name
* example.com/collections/collection_name/product/product_name

1. If you exclude a widget using the first URL format, it will not appear when a customer visits the product page using that format.
2. However, if a customer accesses the product page using the second URL format, the widget will still be visible.
