How do the Basic Settings work in the Sales Notification popups?

Sales Notification popup

The ToastiBar App is an excellent tool for boosting your store’s sales by displaying real-time sales notifications to your visitors, encouraging them to make a purchase. By showing recent sales activity, the app builds trust with your visitors and lets them know what other customers are buying.

As a powerful sales-driving tool, the ToastiBar App displays recent order notifications in real-time, creating a sense of urgency and social proof. It prompts visitors to buy by showing live notifications that someone else recently purchased the same product—whether it was just a few minutes ago, a few hours ago, or even a few days ago. This strategy encourages more conversions and increases sales for your store.

Status

Make sure the ToastiBar App status (on the Dashboard) is enabled to display the Sales Notification pop-ups on your website.

If you wish to disable the pop-ups for a specific device, simply uncheck the Desktop Enabled and/or Mobile Enabled checkboxes. Don’t forget to click the Save button after making any changes.

Once a new sale is made, the app will automatically display the recent sale in the popup on your website. However, if the recent sale is not showing up automatically, you can refresh your sales data by clicking the refresh link. This will prompt the app to reload your recent sale data and begin displaying it in the popup.

Sales Channel [Only for Shopify]

The Sales Channel feature allows you to select the specific channel for which you want to configure the popup message. The available sales channels include the Online Store and Point of Sale. This flexibility enables you to tailor the notification popups for different sales environments, ensuring a seamless experience for your customers across both channels.

Furthermore, by default, the Point of Sale (POS) channel is disabled. If you want to display Point of Sale (POS) orders in the popups, you will need to explicitly enable this option. Once enabled, the app will start showing sales notifications for orders made through the POS channel as well.

Template

In the ToastiBar App, you can fully customize the popup message for the Online Store Sales Channel by editing the template. The app provides several variables that allow you to personalize the message. For example, the {{ first_name }} variable displays the customer's first name, {{ city }} shows the customer's city name, {{ province }} reveals the customer's province or state name (available only for Shopify), and {{ country }} shows the customer's country name. Additionally, the {{ flag }} variable will display the flag of the customer's country, while {{ product }} shows the name of the purchased product. The {{ product_with_link }} variable displays the product name along with a link to the product page, and {{ time_ago }} shows the actual time when the order occurred.

You can also add emojis to the message as needed (optional), and apply filters to the variables if desired (optional). If at any point you wish to reset the message to its default state, simply click the Reset button.

Make sure to click the Save button after making any changes to ensure your customizations are applied successfully.

This is a completely optional setting that allows you to change the language of the popup to suit your preferences. You can customize the popup in any language of your choice, which is especially useful for merchants with a global customer base.

There are two key variables you can use: {{ unit }} and {{ duration }}. The {{ unit }} variable represents the time of purchase in digits, while the {{ duration }} variable specifies the time elapsed since the purchase. The {{ duration }} variable can display in different time units such as Days, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds. For example, "Days" will show how many days ago the product was purchased, "Hours" indicates how many hours ago, "Minutes" shows how many minutes ago, and "Seconds" displays how many seconds ago the product was bought. These time-related terms can be customized in your preferred language whenever needed.

View All Templates

The View All Templates button will display a list of the templates added for different countries and languages (available only for Shopify). In this section, you can view the Country/Language name, the Template associated with it, and the available Action options. Under the Action column, you have the option to edit or delete a template.

Additionally, by clicking on the Add New Template button, you can create and add a new template for a specific country or language (available only for Shopify). This allows you to further customize the app’s messaging to match the language preferences of your customers across different regions.

Add New Template

Whenever you want to use a country/language-specific readymade template, you can easily add it by clicking the Add New Template button.

After clicking the button, the app will allow you to select a country/language (available only for Shopify) from the list. Simply find and select the desired country or language. Once selected, the app will display the readymade template for that specific country/language, including the Time Ago Language Settings (optional). You can modify the template as needed, or if you’re satisfied with the default template, you can directly add it by clicking the Save button. Once saved, the template will be added to your list, and you’ll be able to view all the templates you've added in the View All Templates section.

Other Settings

In the ToastiBar App, the Other Settings section offers several customization options related to the timings and behavior of pop-ups. These settings allow users to tailor the pop-up display to suit their preferences. Here’s a breakdown of the options:

Initial Delay: This setting allows you to define the initial delay time after the page is fully loaded before the first pop-up is displayed. For example, if you set 4 seconds, the app will show the pop-up 4 seconds after the page load.

Maximum Display per Page: This controls how many pop-ups are shown on a page. If set to 20, the app will display a maximum of 20 pop-ups per page, provided the page is not reloaded.

Display Time: Here, you can specify how long the pop-up will remain visible. For example, if you set it to 5 seconds, the pop-up will be displayed for 5 seconds before it disappears.

Delay between Notifications: This allows you to set a delay time between two consecutive pop-ups to control how frequently they appear.

Randomize?: Enabling this option allows the app to automatically randomize the delay time between two pop-ups, rather than using fixed intervals.

Hide Time Ago Part After: You can hide the "time ago" part of the pop-up by specifying a duration in seconds, minutes, hours, or days. For example, entering 30 days will hide the time after 30 days from the order's occurrence.

Hide Order After: Similar to the previous option, this setting lets you hide the order itself after a certain period (in seconds, minutes, hours, or days). For instance, entering 365 days will hide the order after a year.

After making any adjustments, be sure to click the Save button to apply the changes.
